The coaches corner is a place to enhance your sports education. The goal of this area is to assist you in developing better players and better people for future success at whatever level you might be at. FLEXCOACH

All the New Edina Hockey Association Coaches need to follow the directions below.

If you are already a member or have registered for flexxCOACH all you need to do is sign in and on the coaches home select the renew now button or you can also

    • Select the Practice Planner in the black tool bar
    • Click order now


If you have never registered on the flexxCOACH site…access the flexxCoach Practice Planner at www.flexxCOACH.com 

    • Select the Practice Planner in the black tool bar
    • Click order now
    • Select flexxCOACH Association Certificate
    • Enter Edina Hockey Association Certificate # EHA200708 (for your association only this is needed one time only)
    • Click continue
    • Enter your email address (Write down your e-mail)           
    • Enter your password (write down your password)
    • Click continue
    • Fill out the registration forms
    • Click Continue
    • Select Hockey under Subscribed Practice Planners


All you have to do is go to the site at www.flexxcoach.com and select login, enter your e-mail and password and login and select the FlexxCOACH hockey Planner.

    ****All coaches will use same registration procedure while using this same certificate number****
    ***please note that the code is case sensitive***


Please enjoy the site The flexxCOACH Practice Planner is a cutting edge, interactive, web based software designed to assist coaches in creating efficient and effective practices that will benefit their players. Our drill database was designed by professional coaches with youth coaches in mind, and places an emphasis on drills that focus on fundamental skill development.

    ·         The drill designer allows coaches to create their own drills on their own computer and synchronize with the flexxCOACH server to be archived and used when creating your Practice Plans

    ·         The Member Tools give you the ability to communicate with your players and parents.  The Team Page allows parents, players and coaches to view the team calendar, roster, team news and the practice plans in live animation.

Mandatory Helmets for Coaches
As determined by the D6 Director; the following fines and suspensions will be assessed to associations and coaches for violations of the MN Hockey Mandatory Helmet Rule:     ASSOCIATION FINES (Levied against an Association when a Coach affiliated with the Association violates the mandatory helmet rule):  
  • First Association Coach Violation:  $500.00
  • Second Association Coach Violation:  $1,000.00
  • Third Association Coach Violation:  $1,500.00 
  SUSPENSION OF COACHING DUTIES (Levied Against a Coach in accordance with Policy 4.3.2 of District 6 Policies, Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws 2006 -2007):  
  • First Violation by a Coach:  Verbal Warning
  • Second Violation by a Coach: Coach must attend next scheduled D6 Supplementary Discipline Committee meeting
  • Third Violation by a Coach: Immediate automatic thirty (30) day suspension of the Coach 
The District Officer will notify the coach when a violation is observed, then report the violation in writing to the District President.   The District President or his/her designate will notify the Association President of the violation. 
 
Coaches - CEP Registration - updated 8/27

The USA Hockey site has been upgraded and changed in the past couple of months or so and old links may no longer work properly. Coaches who are trying to get to the CEP registration page from the website should use the following link.

 COACHING EDUCATION REMINDERS!!

 

1) CEP Stickers from 04-05 have expired.  Time to renew.
2) The requirements are:
        A. Mite                           Level 1
        B. Squirts                       Level 1& 2
        C. Pee Wees                  Level 1&2&3
        D. Bantams through JrC   Level 1&2&3
        E. Jr A & B                     Level 4

Level 4 coaches are exempt from further requirements.  All other levels need to re certify after 3 years or move up a level.  Level 3 certification is available on line through the USA Hockey web site.  All coaches need to be certified top the proper level.

3) Lost Card? A form for replacement is available on the Minnesota Hockey Web site in the coaches section.

4) Clinics are listed on the USA Hockey Web site http://www.usahockey.org/ You can link from our site also.  Currently only four clinics are listed.  Many more clinics will be posted in the next several weeks.

5) You have until late December to attain the proper level.

6) We encourage all coaches to attend the HEP program September 25th at the Excel Center.  If you need certification it is available.
