Squirt C Green News

Squirt C Green wins first district game!

By Mark Schiefelbein 12/02/2018, 9:45am CST

Making a statement early!

The Squirt C Green cruised to their first district victory with a 7 -0 win over Minnetonka on their home ice.  The snow and bad roads did not prevent a team effort and another shut out by goalie Cole Rasmussen; his 3rd of the year.

George Heinen opened up the scoring leveraging his strong shot, to put up the first goal and only goal we would need to secure a victory.  Grady Schiefelbein put a nifty backhand into the net over the goalie for our second and then pushed in his second of the game while persistently whacking at the puck after the rebound off of Micah Hagen's shot.

Micah Hagen opened up the second period with a goal of his own on an unassisted effort.  Noah Asanji leveraged his speed to notch a goal later in the second as we took a 4 goal lead into the third period, leaving the Minnetonka team stunned.

After putting 17 shots on goal in the first period, the Squirt C Green really opened up and unleashed 14 more in the third period along, tallying 31 total shots!  Micah Hagen was not done scoring and put in his second of the game to open up the third period.  Brennan Grove would not be denied a point, and notched his own unassisted goal to give us a 7-0 lead and victory.

Great start to the season boys.  We are really looking forward to watching a great group of boys who can put the puck in the net, and a goalie who is addicted to shutouts!
